the first time i heard an adult say we all have to do things we dont want to do in life i knew i was doomed
I never got over anything. I miss everyone and everything. nostalgia and grief kill me every day. oh and I also love going on walks.
every love story is about the struggle to say “i love you”

we need to hang on to things that mark the passage of time or we will collectively go crazy i’m not even joking
we need to buy seasonal vegetables for our table we need to decorate for our chosen holidays we need to engage with a weekly show we need to have semi-regular meal times we need to write down friends’ birthdays and have movie night and attend fairs we need to change the flowers on our balcony with plants that can survive the cold and get soil under our fingernails we need to be able to plan and wait and anticipate and find comfort and joy in things leaving but returning we need RITUALS to survive
my favorite part of derry girls was just how accurately it portrayed being a normal person in a time of crisis. obviously the events in derry are very much real and ireland has experienced decades of political conflict, and this DOES impact the main characters in a lot of ways, but they still also…. go to school. worry about their friends and birthday parties and being together. because they’re just teenage girls (+ james) and that resonated with me a lot, especially now

ideal living situation is what i call the ‘sitcom special’ : having all your closest friends live in the same apartment building or neighborhood where you each have your own space but can wander in and out of eachothers homes at will, seemingly always welcome and never at bad times. and also all of you only have jobs when its important to the plot.
You can and should write fanfiction that isn’t perfect. You can and should write whatever fanfiction you want. You can and should write fanfiction that brings you joy even if it’s silly or goofy or weird.
Except for me. My fanfic has to be perfect and read like a novel and ruin at least one person’s sleep schedule.
